One day you will look back and laugh at yourself. You'll say, "I can't believe I was so asleep! How did I ever forget the truth? How ridiculous to believe that sadness and sickness areanything other than bad dreams."

It's a Family Affair
It seems a strange concept, but the addiction may serve a definite purpose within the family system.
A child's addiction may allow the parents a commonality and a joint purpose.
A sibling's addiction may provide a negative role model.
A spouse or partners addiction may distract from other inter and intra-personal difficulties.
The addiction is so absorbing and involving that the family may find contemplating life without their coping behaviour as difficult as the addict may find life without drink or drugs.
A deep fear of change may build up that causes the family to cling to the status quo at all costs.
